Karen Hong of counsel
Karen Hong has extensive experience in government investigations and business litigation in both state and federal courts.
As a senior associate in Goodwin Procter’s Litigation Department, where she practiced for seven years, Karen represented clients in complex civil matters and class actions. Karen defended a leading financial institution in a $35 million action involving fraud by plaintiff’s investment manager alleging breach of contract, unfair trade practices, and fraud. Karen also represented the plaintiff in a $30 million suit against its investment advisor alleging violations of the Massachusetts Securities Act, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty. In addition, Karen represented a publicly traded multinational company in connection with internal investigations and proceedings before the Securities and Exchange Commission related to alleged errors in accounting judgment and the interpretation of a complex derivatives accounting standard.
Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Karen was an associate at Jones Day, where she worked on both litigation and transactional matters.
